11-Sep-2017 12:00 Sizing Mixture Designs for Precision
Newcomers to mixture design often find it difficult to choose appropriate designs with adequate precision. Unfortunately, standard power calculations (used for factorial design) are not of much use due to the colinearity present in mixture designs.
However, when using the fitted mixture model for drawing contour maps, plotting 3D surfaces, making predictions, or performing optimization, it is important that the model adequately represents the response's behavior over the region of interest. In this presentation, a process using Fraction of Design Space (FDS) is given, which will then be used to determine if mixture design has adequate precision for DOE needs.

    12-Sep-2017 18:20 EU Funding Session
The session will start with a brief overview on the various EU funding opportunities so that participants can find their way in the various calls within the EU Horizon 2020 programme. Opportunities for ENBIS members for participating in project proposals for EU calls will be discussed, in particular in conjunction with the activities of EU-MATHSIN. The other part of the session will be devoted to an update on the status EU COST networking proposal on "Analytics, monitoring and decision making in environments of high volume and complex data" that is being prepared by a group of ENBIS members to support ENBIS activities. This COST networking proposal is specifically targeted at overcoming barrier that prevent SME’s (small and medium size enterprises) to use Big Data.
